![]() ![]() I used to have the boss katana air or whatever it was called. What are you using the spark for? Practice or live performance? If you like the katana then why not just sell the fender and keep using the katana. The spark 40 only sits in one spot because I have to plug it in. The spark mini and Yamaha I take all over the house, the backyard, camping. Wireless and battery powered is the way to go with these amps. It works with my Yamaha apxT2 acoustic/electric guitar as well. For the spark mini, I just purchased a Donner DWS3 wireless system. I haven't used a guitar chord in 4 years. Yamaha already has a line 6 wireless receiver built in which I love. ![]() Especially if you download from the cloud. The sparks have a much better software user interface. The goal with these desktop amps is to have that big sound/tone at low volumes and both of these amps do that. However, the sparks sound great at lower volumes. The Yamaha sounds better than the Sparks, especially at higher volumes. I have a spark mini, a spark 40, Yamaha YHR30II and a black star stereo silverline deluxe. Maybe someone of you had the opportunity to compare this two amps and can say me if I will feel any difference? Or are they very comparable amps, and the simulation quality will be nearly the same? Katana is juice, bright and reach, while on Mustang it is a bit disappointing.ĭo you think that replacing GT40 with Spark makes sens? I know that the signal chain is much more limited on Spark, but I can accept it if less means more this time. For example comparing Roland JC-120 from Fender and Katana, is two different worlds. Princeton, Deluxe) simulations are very nice, but others not always. ![]() My Fender has great versatility, but comparing to Katana the sound is not so rich and deep. I'm not going to sell my Katana, but I'm considering replacing Mustang GT 40 with Spark. There was a time, when I was playing on Marshall CODE 25 as well. Hearing recordings from YT is also not helping, as it will never sound like a live amp.įor a bit more details - currently I'm the owner of Boss Katana 50 MKII and Fender Mustang GT 40. Most reviews I see focused on features, app etc., but it's hard to get clear opinion on how this amp sound. Hi! I'm looking for opinion from Positive Grid Spark users, about overall quality of the sound produced by this practice amp. ![]()
